As a Paid-on-Call member you will join a group of dedicated, highly trained men and women who value both safety and community service.

Be at least 19 years of age
Have a desire to serve the community
Have a willingness to learn
Pass a basic physical exam
Note: All applications are subject to background checks and reference checks.
Equipment & Training
The city provides the latest in equipment and training necessary to make you a firefighter. Training is provided by the Monona Fire Department, MATC, and other specialized organizations. Training drills are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m., and the second Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
