Leaf Collection Will Continue Later this Week

Because of the recent snowfall and unseasonably cold weather, leaf collection is delayed a bit this week. However, the weather is expected to warm up later in the week, and leaf collection will then continue. There are no districts for leaf collection. Crews circle the city and vacuum leaves as they see them. There are a lot of leaves at the curb at this point in the season, so we ask that residents please be patient.  When the piles are large, collection moves slowly, but the City has three crews assigned to collection each day as the weather allows.

The Public Works Department is asking residents to break up the crust of snow on the top of their leaf piles and turn over the top layer of leaves. This will help make the piles more visible to the collection crews, and it will help prevent the machines from getting clogged with snow.

Residents may also bring their leaves to the yard waste drop-off dumpsters at the City's public works garage.   More information on leaf collection...
