Bridge Road Reconstruction Public Information Meeting

A public information meeting will be held on Thursday, December 13th at the Monona Public Library Municipal Room at 6:00 PM.  This meeting will give residents of both Madison and Monona a chance to hear details of the upcoming project set to begin in 2019.

Bridge Road will be reconstructed from the intersection at Winnequah Road southwest to Broadway Avenue.  This project will begin sometime next spring and will be complete in the fall of 2019.  The project includes: installation of new water main and storm sewer; new intersection layouts; new street design; undergrounding overhead electrical, fiber, and phone lines; new sidewalks; pedestrian crossings; the addition of bike lanes; the addition of new street trees; new street lighting; replacement of bridge decking on Black Bridge just southwest of the intersection at Winnequah Road; and the addition of a new sign on the bridge.  Another part of the project includes connecting watermain from Bridge Road across West Broadway Avenue just west of the intersection at Bridge Road and Broadway Avenue.

Temporary closures of Bridge Road and West Broadway Avenue will be probable for this project.  Possible closures of Winnequah Road at the intersection of Bridge Road are also possible.

If you have questions about the meeting date or the project, please contact Brad Bruun, City of Monona Project Manager, at (608) 222-2525.
